REIKI

Hi everyone!
I am currently a Reiki Master (Level III practitioner).
Here is a brief explanation of Reiki straight from my student manual. If you have questions or simply want to chat more about it please reach out! I'll be glad to talk about it.

"Rei (Ray) means Universe, Divine.

Ki (Key) means life force energy.

Reiki translates to Universal energy. Everything is made up of this Universal Energy, even solid matter. This energy flows through us and around us all the time.

As we go through life, we learn through social conditioning and experiences to pinch off the flow of this Universal energy. Parts of us begin to show dis-ease. This can manifest through the physical level and non-physical levels of our Being. Through energy healing like Reiki, we can again open up and expand our energy to restore health and wellness."

"Reiki works by clearing blockages and stagnation that occurs in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels of one's Being. The Reiki energy balances and harmonizes all aspects of a Being and increases the vibration of that Being. Health is restored when our energy is balanced."

"A Reiki Practitioner is a channel for Universal energy which allows it to flow around and through him/her self and/or a patient."

- Daisy Thompson, Northwest Healing Studio

In other words, the energy I channel is not my own, but I am simply a "glorified straw" as my teacher jokingly calls us, a "straw" through which Universal Energy flows through. And I do not really have a say in what exactly will be healed, as I do in massage for example. The energy travels to places that need healing the most in that given time for each client.

In each Reiki session I will do a whole body healing, following each chakra from the front and the back, and include arms and legs. I place my hands on the client where applicable, and hold them above the body where hands-on treatment would not be appropriate, such as the root chakra for instance, which is in the same area as our pelvic floor. The energy will flow to where it is most needed at that time. The client is encouraged to let go of any effort and expectations and simply breathe.

Please reach out if you want to chat further! I am happy to do so.
